• Three people have been sent to the hospital after Governor Bruce Rauner's motorcade got into a crash in downtown Chicago. The incident happened near Michigan Ave and East Randolph Street. Illinois State Police Troopers were were escorting Rauner's motorcade through traffic when two cars crashed into each other at the intersection. Both Rauner and the trooperwere unhurt. Three people however were taken to Northwestern Hospital with minor injuries.
  • More information has been released about the victims in a triple shooting earlier this week, that left one person dead. 23-year-old Terez Herd of Beloit, passed away as a result of his injuries. He died at an area hospital.
  • The Rockford Police Department is looking to hire a batch of new officers. According to their Facebook page, officials will begin accepting applications this Friday through March 4th of this year. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the department's website.
  • Slippery road conditions were a factor in a one-car crash on Rockford's east side. A vehicle was traveling south on Seminary Street early this morning when it lost control, crashing into an electrical pole. It happened near Rockford Auto Parts in the 900 block of Seminary Street. Five people suffered minor injuries, four of them were taken to a local hospital.
  • Three Stateline area men are under arrest for allegedly trying to burglarize two businesses. Rockford Police officers responded early this morning to the 600 block of south Rockford Avenue and the 2200 block of Charles Street. Officials say 19-year-old Jessee Darby, 20-year-old Ryan Carmona, and 23-year-old Manual Lorado have all been charged with attempted burglary.
  • A routine traffic stop in Loves Park turned into a man trying to lead police on a high speed chase. Around 8 p.m. last night officers pulled over 25-year-old Kenneth Pickens near Windsor and Material. When officers approached his vehicle, Pickens sped off. Pickens was found hiding in a dumpster later after running a red light at Riverside and Material and crashing into another vehicle. He's been charged with aggravated fleeing to elude police among other charges. His passenger in the car, 20-year-old Chelsey Payton, was charged with allowing an unauthorized person to drive her car and failing to secure her one-year-old in a car seat.
  • Beloit's City Council members met last night to address rising crime rates. The meeting took place a night after a shooting left one man dead. Members addressed the possibility of adding a teen drop-in center to give them an opportunity to seek refuge off the street and also talked about increasing the police force.
  • A judge is letting cameras into a criminal courtroom in Cook County for the first time. Photographers will be allowed in at next month's sentencing for two men convicted of killing an off-duty Chicago police officer. Cook County is the largest one taking part in the state's courtroom test of cameras and other recording devices.
