•  Rockford police have identified the victim of an early morning shooting. Authorities say 15-year-old Jazznique Fort was shot in the head early this morning in the 800 block of Lee Street. Fort was a student at Auburn High School. A 19-year-old man was also shot in the leg. An autoposy is taking place and stay tuned to WROK for the latest as it develops.
  • A Chicago-area man is still recovering a month after a taxi crashed through the wall of his home and pinned him to his bed. Shawn Grisch of Glendale Heights suffered multiple injuries when the taxi slammed through a brick wall on December 1st. The driver fled and remains at large. Grisch says he's continuing physical therapy and hoping to be cleared to return to work next week.
  • A new law expanding the Illinois medical marijuana program to children is opening the way for a new blend that aims to  treat certain conditions for effectively.  The blend is called Charlotte's Web and oil is made from it. Some parents of children with epilepsy say the oil eases their children's seizures. The marijuana strain is cultivated by a Colorado company and contains less powerful THC, the psychoactive ingredient that makes people high.
  • The Belvidere Police Department has obtained a warrant for a Stateline area man suspected of murder.  47-year-old Michael Spraggins is believed to be armed and dangerous in the killing of a woman. The murder took place in the area of Tobyne Drive. Officers responded early this morning and found the woman dead by an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Belvidere Police Department.
  • The Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department responded an early morning fire call at a barn. Firefighters responded at 2 a.m. to a fire off Highway 173.  Upon arrival firefighters found a large, abandoned barn fully involved with fire. The fire is under investigation.
  • A Janesville man has been arrested for his 7th drunk driving offense, after falling asleep at the wheel with open alcohol in his parked vehicle. Officers found 35-year-old Earl Sheda and attempted to wake him and after Sheda failed field sobriety tests, he reportedly tried assaulting the arresting officer. He’s been charged with OWI and resisting an officer.
