• Two 16-year-old girls from Pecatonica, injured in a serious accident on U.S 20 on Friday, remain in critical condition today. They were in the car that crashed with the semi at the Winnebago Corners intersection investigators have determined the car was crossing the intersection heading northbound when it was t-boned by the east bound semi-truck.
  • There are questions about who had the green light, and transport inspectors are also checking out the truck for any possible mechanical issues.
  • A busy section of Alpine Road will be closed beginning April 6. The bridge on Alpine which crosses over Forest Hills road will be closed for extensive repairs.No word on how long the road construction work will take.
  • A 19-year old Beloit man has been charged in the 2014 shooting death of 24-year old Joe'l Paul P. Balwin Davidson Royster. Mickale Hicks was charged with Felony Murder on Thursday in Royster’s death. Hicks is already jailed in Rock County on a separate charge.
  • 29-year old Justin Knox is back in Rockford today, facing numerous charges including battery to a peace officer charge. He was arrested in Georgia two months ago, and was extradited back to Rockford April 3rd. Knox is accused of shooting a private security officer last August who was patrolling Auburn Manor apartments. The officer survived the attack.
