Flying down Michigan Avenue in Chicago at a high rate of speed ended very badly for a Lamborghini driver on Saturday morning.

My grandmother used to say that "nothing good ever happens after midnight." I'm thinking the driver of a super-cool and wildly expensive sports car may be feeling the same way right about now.

According to published reports, the white Lamborghini was traveling at a high rate of speed, disregarded a red traffic signal and struck the police vehicle in the driver side door on the 400 block of North Michigan Avenue around 3:56am Saturday.

Luckily, everyone involved is going to be okay.

The driver of the Lamborghini was given two traffic citations, and the police officer was sent to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The insurance company should have some very intriguing thoughts about all of this.
