I have driven past this place so many times in my life, and I never actually considered it to be one of the best motels in America.

If you've been to Chicago, there's a very good chance you've seen it too.

Personally, I don't know anyone who has stayed at this motel but it's been around my entire life.

Despite the ever-changing landscape in the Second City, this motel is practically a historical landmark.

Over the years, this motel has dug out a decent niche, and now it's called the Best Motel in Illinois.

THE BEST MOTEL IN ILLINOIS IS NAMED AFTER ANOTHER STATE

It's called the Ohio House Motel at 600 North LaSalle Street. Ring any bells?

If you come into Chicago on the Kennedy Expressway and take the Ohio exit, you're probably going to drive past the motel shortly after.

After all these years, the place looks like it got shot out of the 60s and stayed there.

In December of 1960, the Chicago Tribune included a small snippet announcing the opening of a brand new hotel in western Chicago. That hotel was the Ohio House Motel. After more than 5 decades, the Ohio House Motel is still going strong.

There's a lot of choice in Chicago when it comes to where to stay but the Ohio House Motel charges less than $200 a night and offers free parking.

The rooms look just fine too.
