Woodstock’s Summer Market Opens For The Season
As the weather warms up that can only mean one thing, farmers markets will be opening.
Woodstock's twice a week summer market opens tomorrow.
If you love checking out all the yummy produce, local crafts, jams, jelies, meats, treats and more then get ready for Woodstock's twice a week summer market.
It officially opens tomorrow in the town square. (The Woodstock Independent)
This year there promises to be new vendors not just open on the Saturday market days but also on their mid-week, Tuesday, Market days.
According to their website, woodstockfarmersmarket.org, the market opens on the square at 8am and goes till 1pm. Music will be at the bandstand from 9am to 11am.
New vendors to expect to see Tuesday and on Saturday include:
"Family-owned Anderson Organics from near Rockford will sell at the Tuesday market. On Saturday,Tom Anderson from Marengo, who sells pesticide-free produce from Tom’s Backyard Garden."
Also, vendors who were at their winter market have signed up for the summer market, so you will see Mimi’s Garlic Butter from Marengo, Carlitos Way Salsa of Woodstock,.
Plus, there is "Red Buffalo Nursery of Richmond, which will sell native plants on Saturdays, and Windmill Ginger Brew of Geneva with its flavored ginger sodas, which will be downtown Tuesdays and Saturdays."
Mmm... I gotta say, I'd be front and center for that garlic butter, the salsa, and trying that ginger soda.
The market will also be selling shaved iced, or what they call 'snowballs', in 48 flavors as the temperatures begin to warm up. Oh yum.
And to think you can go here not once but twice a week and fill up on these goodies.
Happy shopping.
