The dog might be "Man's Best Friend," but how much would you be willing to spend to get him back if he went missing?

$500? $1,500? $1,000?

For one Washington D.C. woman price is no object, apparently. Janet Mihalyfi already has spent more than $35,000 to try to find her lost pooch, Havoc. The Washington Post reports much of that money went toward blanketing neighborhoods with signs and hiring four psychics and private eye dog investigators.

Havoc has been missing now for more than a year. He has his own webpage and his own Facebook page. Mihalfyi says she won’t give up as long as she continues to get leads on Havoc. That's still happening, though it appears she's no closer to being reuinted.

Why spend so much money to find a dog? Mihalfyi told the Post:

“I love him,” Mihalyfi answered. “Who would give up on their dog? People spend their money all kinds of ways. I don’t take fancy vacations. I don’t drive fancy cars.” (Note: Yes, we asked — she was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion with 14,000 miles.)

“I can’t imagine a better way of spending your money than getting a family member back.”

I have no problem with how she wants to spend her money. And I hope there's a happy ending to this story sooner rather than later. In the meantime, the search continues.
