Talk about bad luck! A woman from downstate Decatur will not get $50,000.00 that she won from the Illinois lottery, even though she purchased the actual winning ticket. The reason she will not get the money is because of the person she lived with.

The Herald & Review is reporting that Tykisha Lofton lived with a drug dealer and the money used to purchase the ticket was obtained though money received from illegal drug sales.

The case has been floating around in court for several months and late last week the  Fourth District Appeals Court ruled the lottery winnings deserve to be kept by the state.

The lottery winnings will be split between local and state law enforcement agencies.

Lesson learned, don't buy lottery tickets with drug money. Read more HERE.
