Wisconsin Man Asks For Christmas Letters as Dying Wish
Grab the Kleenex — it's about to get dusty in here.
Greeting cards. We've all gotten them, some we save for many years and some see the garbage in a few weeks. Whether its for a birthday, graduation, Christmas, or even a get well soon, we often times take them for granted in the moment.
As I've been unpacking my new house, it's been amazing to see all the greeting cards that I've saved over the years. The one that made me stop though was one from my grandpa. He's been gone for many years now but every time I open that card and read it, I'm flooded by memories of him.
Gene Weittenhiller is a big fan of greeting cards. More so this year than years past. Back in January, Gene had his prostate gland removed after cancer was detected. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the cancer. It spread to his pancreas and his liver. He started chemo back in August but it wasn't working. He decided to stop treatment three weeks ago and his doctors say he only has months to live according to WSET.
His family is now trying to make sure that Gene's last Christmas is filled with joy, inspiration, and love from everyone. They are asking that people send as many Christmas cards as possible to show he's not alone.
