Wisconsin Man Detains Girlfriend’s Robber Until Police Arrive
I have always made jokes in the past about a citizen's arrest. Can it really happen? Is it legal? Is anyone dumb enough to actually try doing it? Looks like the answer to all three questions is a resounding YES as a man from our neighboring state ran down his girlfriends robber.
According to WMTV, "A woman was attempting to get change at a nearby business near Watts Road and Gammon Road when a man forcefully grabbed the money from the victim's hand and fled the area on foot at 12:19 p.m., according to the Madison Police Department. The victim's boyfriend chased and detained the suspect until police arrived."
Dude, what if he had a gun, a knife, or hell even a taser? What would you have done then? I wish there was video footage of this incident to check out. I imagine it would be pretty entertaining.
The funniest part of this whole thing is when the boyfriend "detained the suspect until police arrived." Can you imagine some random dude pinning another random dude to the ground and just waiting for Madison's finest to show up?
How is this any different that vigilantism? I don't know but it would've been even funnier if the boyfriend was wearing a Batman mask lol!
