Who doesn't love a good mystery movie? Better yet, what about the mystery of what is inside a time capsule from 1975?

Some popular items in 1975 seem to still be a "thing" today, according to this article by Microsoft from 2000. Coincidentally, 2000 is when this theater played its last flick.

  • Mood Rings
  • Rubik’s Cubes
  • Pet Rocks
  • Hip-huggers, bellbottoms, leisure suits
  • 8-Tracks
  • PEZ candy
  • Magic 8-Balls

Would be an accurate guess that at least one or two of the above items are inside the time capsule surrounded by concrete in front of the old CherryVale Mall Theaters.

Yes, the current Gymnastics Academy trampoline park has a mystery outside its front doors.

It would make sense being that this is a time capsule, which indicates its contents not be revealed until 2025. There were some iconic movies released in 1975.

Here some are of the biggest films released that year before the time capsule was sealed in July of '75, according to IMDB.

  • Jaws
  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • Dog Day Afternoon
  • The Return of the Pink Panther

If I were a betting man (and I am) I would put my money on some ticket stubs being inside that time capsule.

A very important question comes to mind about this time capsule. Is it now up to the current owners to open this piece of history in 2025? Is there a chance someone could forget to open it?
