A NEW BREED OF THRILLING WATER SLIDES OPENS IN WI DELLS THIS SUMMER

I don't personally know anyone who designs rollercoasters OR water slides, but I sure have wanted to say a few things to them after riding a few of their wild creations. Some of the words that I'd like to share would be too 'colorful' for most rooms.

Just like those who come up with the most twisted horror movie ideas, the creators of America's first rotating water slide, are very different than you and me.

AMERICA'S FIRST ROTATING WATER SLIDE HAS ARRIVED IN WISCONSIN DELLS

Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park spent $23 million on an expansion that includes a first-of-its-kind rotating water slide. Below, you'll get to take sort of a 'virtual' ride to understand how this thing works.

Say hello to, Medusa's Slidewheel

Only two others exist in the world, China and Poland. The first one built in the United States is  at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park located at  655 N Frontage Rd, Wisconsin Dells, WI.

The expansion is being made to the indoor water park. What was once called the Bay of Dreams, is becoming Medusa's Indoor Water Park.

In the park's nearly 50 years, Mt. Olympus has never made an investment of this size.

That investment includes a water slide that I'm not so sure I still have the courage to ride. The First Rotating Water Slide in the U.S., is described as a Ferris wheel with a water slide attached to it.

Mt. Olympus owner Nick Laskaris said,

“you enter the slide through the middle and right away the whole slide is rotating and it’s a four person raft you are inside of it and it goes backwards and forwards.”

Watch Mt. Olympus owner, Nick Laskaris, tell the story of the park's big expansion.
