The Kentucky Waterfall, the Tennessee Tophat, Mississippi Mudflaps. The mullet is awesome, and it's even better when it's on little kids.

Voting is currently open for the USA Mullet Championships. There are three divisions: adult, teen, and kids.

Two young lads from Wisconsin have been selected as finalists from the field of 21 other school kids with skullets.

Up first we have Emmitt from Menomonie, Wi.

Emmitt is confident here in the full coverage reflective sunglasses. Flashing the pearly whites in one pic and looking stoic in another. High and tight in the front, long and flowing in the back. Emmitt mixes it up by throwing a faux-hawk on top of it all. An excellent mullet.

Up next is Axel, from Brillion, Wisconsin

Axel's toothy grin will learn him some points. Axel is letting the party creep pretty far into the business territory. At this point it's about 66% party, 33% business. And I like it. Also notice Axel completing the look with the cut off sleeves. Classic.

They're only 2 of 21 finalists. Let's take a look at the other 19 contestants to see if they have a shot.

ZANDER - KENNETT, MISSOURI

Zander going with the stoic look in both pictures is a bold decision. USA glasses? Check. Not a curl to be found. Probably the longest bangs in the competition.

RUSTIN - POCAHONTAS, ARKANSAS

If this is the most adorable mullet contest we can shut it down right now. Rustin wins. I need a judge to confirm that it is real. If it is, that's a Jordan-esque performance.

EMMETT - CARTHAGE, NORTH  CAROLINA

Emmett giving a slight grin in the first picture. Emmett might have the largest sunglasses in the contest. USA shirt? Check.

CASH - CATAWISSA, MISSOURI

Awww. Cash's rosy red cheeks should win an award all by themselves. The cut-off plaid shirt is a great touch and curls are plentiful. A great all around effort.

EPIC - LA JOYA, TEXAS

Epic indeed. Talk about growing into your name. Epic is throwing heat all over the place. Feathered front, two pairs of sunglasses, and a Hawaiian shirt. Epic is a wild card that I'd like to check in on in 20 years.

LANDRY - DUNCAN, OKLAHOMA

Landry is going above and beyond with the relatively accurate American flag stencil on the side of the head. Flashing the smile in the first picture. Landry is definitely our most patriotic mullet of the contest.

ELI - HOGANSBURG, NEW YORK

Wow! The most product we've seen yet in the contest. Not a lot of definition between the front and the back but Eli's so cool, no one will really care. Extra points for the parallel line graphics on the side. A+ glasses as well.

MASON - FREMONT, CALIFORNIA

Mason is bringing a lot of volume to the contest this year. If this contest was being judged just by weight, like a pumpkin growing contest, I think Mason would be the favorite. The curls fall nicely along the back. The classic Kentucky waterfall, directly from California.

CALLEN - AUSTIN, MINNESOTA

Callen instantly reminds me of the kid from Jerry Maguire.

I just want to talk with Callen. I think he would have interesting stories.

ETHAN - PENROSE, NORTH CAROLINA

Ethan just will not stop smiling. Sporting the tightest curls in the contest. Ethan finishes it off well with two different cut-off tees.

MILES - CASTALLIAN SPRINGS, TENNESSEE

Miles is bringing a great smile and some Harry Potter-like bolts etched in the side. The blue collar basic gray sweatshirt looks great with the loose curls falling over the shoulder. One of our happiest looking contestants.

BROCK - DOUGLAS, GEORGIA

On the other end of the happiness looking spectrum is Brock. Brock is here to win. Massive sunglasses. Swinging chain. Bold Hawaiian. Lines on the side. Brock is a multi-tool player and knows it. He'll be tough to beat.

BOWDIN - CARTHAGE, MISSOURI

Swinging all the back on the happiness scale we have Bowdin. Bowdin might not even know there is a contest going on, Bowdin's just happy to be here. The cut-off American shirt is a great touch. How can you not smile when you look at that.

LEVI - MCALESTER,  OKLAHOMA

The first red head we have in the contest and it's a stunner. Full of volume and curls. The hair contrasts nicely with the bright blue plaid. Excellent entry.

LINCOLN - CLEVELAND, VIRGINIA

attachment-21

Lincoln would probably be the favorite if we were going just by length. I love the casual attitude given off by the t-shirt look.

NOLAN - FESTUS, MISSOURI

attachment-1

I'm not keeping track but it feels like Missouri is leading the country in entrants so far. You'd think it would be Minnesota with the hockey culture, but Missouri does not disappoint. Kudos to Nolan for having the nicest shirt in the contest.

JAMESON - DELAWARE, OHIO

attachment-2

Whoa. There's a lot of potential in this young package. Might not bring home the crown this year, but once he grows into those sunglasses, Jameson will be a perennial contender.

CATCHYN - LAWTON, OKLAHOMA

I would also like to give a huge shout out to a lot of the parents involved here with the incredible names like Catchyn here. I'm assuming that you say it like catchin' and that's awesome. Pair that with an incredible shirt and Catchyn is a solid entry.

RIDGE - ATHOL, IDAHO

i

Our last finalist is the adorable Ridge. Ridge might have the best hair length to actual height ratio in the whole contest. Pulls it all together with the USA cut-off tee.
