Book This Quaint Illinois Airbnb In The Middle Of A Wildlife Refuge
As an added bonus, it also is in the middle of southern Illinois wine country.
The Refuge Cottage on the Shawnee Wine Trail is the latest Airbnb listing to garner some viral attention.
Located in the southern Illinois town of Carbondale, this property isn't far from civilization, but also is neatly tucked away in the woods for complete privacy.
Nestled in the Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge, 20 minutes from the SIUC (Southern Illinois University Carbondale) campus and located on the Shawnee Wine Trail. The Refuge Cottage offers a perfect place to enjoy beautiful Southern Illinois. Enjoy hiking along scenic forest trails or drop in a kayak in a nearby lake!
These people also completely realize why people would want to be alone in the woods when they explicitly state in their post that you are free to smoke as much pot as you want.
**NOTE** Recreational marijuana is legal in Illinois@ Check out the guidebook on dispensaries for more infor or shoot us a message: We are "420 Friendly" just just ask that when partaking in any manner that may create an odor, you do it outside or on the screened in porch.
So you want to get blazed up in the woods and stay at someone's cabin? This Airbnb is for you.
Let's take a look at what's waiting for you in southern Illinois:
Rustic is how I would describe it. Nice flowers. A little dirty, but you are after all in the middle of the woods.
I believe this is the porch that they would like you to do your drugs in. Looks like it would get the job done.
Just an absolutely gorgeous outdoor sitting area with a fire pit. Looks like the perfect spot to drink an irresponsible amount of beer with your friends.
The two main bedrooms. The listing says the cabin can accommodate 6 guests. I'm hoping they don't expect two non-married adults to share either of those twin beds.
Or maybe they are expecting someone to sleep in this papasan chair. That looks like a wonderful place to relax after a long session on the patio.
This is the kitchen. Do you really care? Is anyone putting together a 3 course meal while vacationing in the woods? Don't get me wrong, it's nice. It's just that the only thing I'm concerned with on a vacation to a place like this is if the fridge is big enough to fit all the beer. It shouldn't be a problem with a full kitchen like this.
The place is pretty cheap as well, about $125 a night for a cottage that sleeps six people, a pretty good deal.
