Illinois Pie Lovers: Word Has It This Place Has The State’s Best
In the interests of fairness (and me wanting to sleep in my own bed instead of the couch), I have to say that my wife Amy makes an apple pie that I consider to be the finest pie I've ever been lucky enough to have placed in front of me.
It's astoundingly good, but she only makes one every couple of years, and one pie every 24 months is probably not enough to get her any Yelp reviews.

- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Michigan
- Missouri
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- West Virginia
- Wisconsin

Here's what it looks like:
And, more importantly, here's where you can get yourself one:

And Spinning J is the home of what Yelp reviewers call Illinois' best pie, the S'Mores Pie. NBCChicago.com describes the S'Mores Pie like this: Featuring graham cracker crust, milk chocolate ganache and house-made marshmallow topping, the pie isn't actually served warm - but kept refrigerated, according to the bakery's website. A half pie runs $18, while a full will cost you $36.
