The Best Apple Cider Donuts in Illinois
In my opinion, Fall is my least favorite season due to the fact that my allergies love to have a field day during these months. But, my favorite thing about Fall is one thing and one thing only. The three words everyone loves to hear, apple cider donuts. Almost every pumpkin patch/apple orchard sells them, but not all donuts are the same. Where are the best of the best in Illinois? Don't worry, we got you. Here's a list of the most delicious donuts.
- Tanners Orchard in Speer, IL. They've been serving up award-worthy apple cider donuts since 1947. They make their hot, fresh donuts daily and you can smell the deliciousness as soon as you walk in. Speer is around 2 hours from Rockford, but the donuts are worth the trip.
- Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park, IL. These donuts are made from their homemade apple cider that comes from the apples grown on their farm. Apparently, their so good people are known to stock up and freeze them to have them all year.
- All Seasons Apple Orchard in Woodstock, IL. Just an hour from Rockford, this place is known for their amazing donuts. Their cider is freshly pressed weekly and their donuts are always fresh as well.
- Valley Orchard in Cherry Valley, IL. Since 1977 this 35-acre orchard is home to 25 different types of apples and 5,000 trees and they are being grown year round. This is obviously the closest option to Rockford.
