The Taste of Chicago, a food festival that has been a summer staple for more than 40 years, will change its traditional dates due to other events scheduled in Grant Park. Instead of being held in early July, the festival will take place on September 8-10. However, it will remain in the same location in Grant Park.

Pop-Up Events in Three Neighborhoods

To make up for the rescheduling, officials have added “Taste of Chicago pop-ups” in three neighborhoods this summer. These events will be free and will feature local food, live music, and more. The first pop-up event will be held in Humboldt Park on June 24, followed by Pullman Park on July 15, and Marquette Park on August 5.

Nightly Concerts and Dancing

Aside from the food, Taste of Chicago also presents a diverse mix of national and international artists at nightly concerts. Visitors can grab a spot at the Main Stage near Buckingham Fountain and enjoy a show under the stars. In addition, each day will feature a variety of dance styles, including several Chicago-born genres.

While the Taste of Chicago may have changed its traditional dates, visitors can still enjoy the same delicious food and live music performances in the same location at Grant Park. In addition, the new pop-up events in three different neighborhoods offer an opportunity for locals to experience the festival without having to travel downtown. Whether you are a foodie, a music lover, or a dance enthusiast, Taste of Chicago is a must-attend event for anyone visiting or living in the Windy City.
