waterspouts

It happens more than you think, but it's not captured on video very often. A massive waterspout dropped from the sky over Lake Michigan near Milwaukee, Wisconsin and churned its way across the water.

These folks at Praia da Piedade, Recife, Brazil had their beach day ruined (or at least made far more interesting than it would have been) by a fast-moving storm that produced a water tornado, or waterspout. Hard to believe that no one was killed (or even seriously injured) when you see the wind power this waterspout brings to the beach party...
