Six Flags Great America in Illinois opens its 50th season with drone shows, anniversary events, and all 17 roller coasters starting April 25.

I refuse to believe this could ever happen, but that's admittedly because I have so many decades of memories connected to Six Flags in St. Louis, Missouri. A report claims that because of a merger that's happening, the park is "not untouchable".

We are in the dog days of summer and there is no better time on the calendar to check out amusement parks! One website says they found the BEST thrill ride in Illinois, and from the video we found, we agree this ride looks incredible!

After nearly 50 years, one of the original sections of the park is getting a major glow-up with a new look, ride names, and more.

We've said it before, and it will be said many more times: "Illinois is too hard on itself." To be fair, many times we're hard on ourselves for good reasons--high property taxes, ineffective state government, massive pension debts, crime, corruption, to name just a few.
