Bigfoot

I've never thought of Bigfoot as much of a big city creature, but perhaps I should reconsider as one of these mythical creatures was recently spotted in a ditch near Chicago, Illinois.

A man near Victoria, Illinois has quite a tale to tell. It involves his family's cabins that were located near the pits of an old coal mine where they encountered...something. Something not human.

When you think of Bigfoot (or Sasquatch), you think of the Pacific Northwest or maybe even the Himalayas. Do not sleep on downstate Illinois. I'm not saying Bigfoot is roaming around Peoria but there are plenty of downstaters that think they've seen the legendary creature over the last half a century.

It's important to note from the beginning that this is not a funny story. It's actually tragic for a multitude of reasons, but it is true. A Midwest man is accused of killing his friend because he believed that his buddy was going to try and feed him to Bigfoot.

It seems as though we just can't get away from Bigfoot. It wasn't all that long ago that I read of a Bigfoot and Bigfoot baby possibly being filmed in Michigan. Another piece had Bigfoot indulging a love for cheese in Wisconsin.

Not long ago, I was doing some shopping when I overheard a conversation between a little girl (I'm guessing she was about 7 or 8) and her dad about monsters. In particular, whether or not we have monsters in Illinois.

You begin the day hunting for arrowheads in Illinois and the next thing you know you have 140 Bigfoot footprints instead. Isn't life peculiar?
