Someone In Illinois Is Sitting On A $4 Million Winning Ticket
Time to check any old tickets you might have lying around.
WREX - The Lottery says the ticket purchased BP station at 1955 West Cermak Road in Chicago matched all five numbers -- 7, 11, 13, 19, and 58. That was worth $1 million but because the Megaplier number was four, the winning prize is $4 million.
The drawing was on February 23 and the winner has one year to claim the prize. I'm assuming that they don't usually have multi-million dollar prizes go unclaimed for this long very often. I'm sure you want to get some of your legal needs in order, but it's been three months.
I really hope that someone didn't throw it away. This is why I hardly ever play the lottery. I'll buy a few about twice a year and then lose them. Once I see that the jackpot wasn't won near me I usually forget about it but it always eats at me that I might have lost a hundred bucks or so along the way.
Fortunately, when legalized sports gambling comes to Illinois I can stop playing the lottery and get rich gambling that way. That is how it works right?
