Size Matters! 94 Foot Movie Theatre Screen Coming to Illinois.
Just how big of a movie theatre screen do you need? How about NINTY-FOUR-FREAKIN'-FEET! PATCH
In Batavia, Illnois that's exactly what they are doing. The owners of the once "Randall 15 IMAX Theatre" have received the ok to build, expand and construct THE largest movie theatre screen in Illinois.
The Super EMAX auditorium seems like it's too good to be true, but it's real. The city needed to approve the construction and the addition so all of this could fit. How cool is that?
So here's a good breakdown of theatre sizes...A typical movie theatre screen is anywhere from 45 to 65 feet wide. An IMAX screen is 72 feet wide. Emagine Entertainment is going to put up a 94 foot screen. There will be reclining and heated seats in the theatre, but it will hold LESS people because of the screen size. The 94 foot screen room will go from 2,285 to,1,090 seats.
The specifics of the theatre includes:
- 4K laser projection
- Dolby Atmos immersive sound
- Luxurious, power-reclining seats

Check out those awesome seats in the front, I'm falling asleep for sure!
I've done the IMAX thing before, and to be honest as long as I have great sound and a comfy seat...I'm good to go! This does seem like something you do have to just do "once" to experience it!
