Rockford’s Roads Cost Residents $2K Per Year
The study says that 63% of Rockford roads are in poor or mediocre condition.
The non-profit transportation research firm TRIP just released their reports on what road conditions are costing residents and Rockford found itself near the top of the list.
It is worth noting that there seems to be a rise in cost the farther you move north. Champaign, Peoria, and Springfield don't have nearly as rough winters that we do up here.
Once again we know what the problem is, just not how to fix it. I'm sure we will be told the newest tax, gas, lottery, etc., will be used to fill potholes but we've been burned on that before.
My guess is that it's going to get worse until it gets better, you might want to put a little aside for a new muffler sometime in the near future.
