When you're good you're good, but sometimes you're even better than good.

That's the story for Auburn High School grad, Fred Van Vleet. After graduation Van Vleet was given a scholarship to play basketball at Wichita State Univeristy.

Since then, Van Vleet has won numerous awards, as a sophomore he was named conference MVP.

As a junior, VanVleet was named a first team preseason All-American. After the season was over, he then decided to dip his toes in NBA waters.  A short time later, Van Vleet decided to return for his senior season at Wichita State.

This could potentially make Van Vleet the greatest basketball player to ever come out of the Rockford area. Van Vleet was named college basketball's best player by Fox Sports Reid Forgrave. Forgrave mentions "If you’re not on board the VanVleet bandwagon by now then shame on you. He’s one of the better perimeter defenders in college basketball and one of the best quarterbacks from the point guard position."

While it's Van Vleet's last season in Wichita St. uniform, this is only closing out a chapter of his career. There is going to be more Fred Van Vleet, probably running up and down the floors of NBA arenas.
