Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey joined us on the show this week to discuss a number of issues that have been simmering over the past month or so.

First on the agenda was funding for the future AAR facility at the Rockford Airport. Both the Rockford City Council and the Winnebago County Board now have approved payments for their respective share of the costs. More than 500 jobs are expected to be created at RFD.

We also dug into the Governor's budget address, which included a couple of items the Mayor took issue with. Namely, he's concerned the combination of cuts to local funding from Springfield and the exemption of police and fire pensions from reform could spell big financial problems for the city.
