Rockford Guys Are Pretty Much in Control of the Bobblehead Industry
One of the best companies producing bobbleheads got their start right here in Rockford.
If you listen to me talk to my dad on Thursday afternoons, you know that I love bobbleheads and my dad has quite a Chicago sports bobblehead collection... and the Pope to help his teams win.
When I found out that two guys from Rockford are part of the best bobblehead making company out there, I couldn't wait to find out more about them!
Phil Sklar and Brad Novak graduated from Guilford High School and are now the co-founders of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame.
Possibly the coolest thing ever. I got a chance to ask Phil about his sweet bobblehead job and here's what I learned.
- Phil and Brad made custom bobbleheads in 2013 to raise money for the Special Olympics and decided that they need to be in the bobblehead industry.
- The coolest bobbles they've ever made include Beef-A-Roo bobbles which are coming out this December, and Guildford Viking bobbles.
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum will feature the world’s largest collection of bobbleheads and bobblehead-related exhibits.
- THEY HAVE SO MANY COOL CUBS BOBBLEHEADS. I can't get over the World Series bobbles, and the fact that the first Cubs bobble they made was Ronnie Woo Woo.
So basically every Cubs fan should get those bobbles for Christmas. I'm pretty certain someone from my family will be unwrapping one of their amazing designs this December. Or maybe I'll have some new desk decorations!
