Rockford Doctor On When The Pandemic Will Be Over
Dr. Norem joins us every Monday at 7:05 to give us the latest on the coronavirus, COVID-19, and the vaccine rollout.
Dr. Norem has been joining us pretty much every week for over a year now. He was explaining things during last spring's lockdown, and he's been guiding us all the way through the pandemic. We learn something new from Dr. Norem every week and this week was no exception.
Every week, when we introduce Dr. Norem for his weekly segment Riley, opens with, "Since we're still in a pandemic, we welcome Dr. Norem to the show." We obviously love having Dr. Norem on the show and don't want to stop talking to him but it would be nice to be out of the pandemic so we can go back to talking to Dr. Norm when we text him personally for medical advice.
So when will the pandemic be over? It's a question that I think most of us know the answer to at the bottom of our hearts and Dr. Norem confirmed it. We don't know for sure and it depends on a lot of variables. Most importantly being a reduction in cases for parts of the country that are lagging behind. Dr. Norem also reminds us that a variant of the virus could keep us in the "pandemic" state.
Dr. Norem also made sure to make his weekly plea for everyone to get fully vaccinated as that's the quickest and most foolproof way to get back to a Monday morning where Riley doesn't have to say the word pandemic.
Vaccines are available for free to anyone that wants it. Please look into it and talk to your doctor if you still have questions.
We thank Dr. Norem for his time and look forward to talking to him again next week.
