Rockford Couple Charged in Beating Death of 9-Year-Old

A father and his girlfriend have been charged with fatal child abuse in connection to the beating death of the man's 9-year-old son, according to a report from The Journal-Standard. 

Robert De’Yahre Davidson died in the summer of 2018 due to an irregular heartbeat caused by dehydration and multiple blunt-forced injuries. The boy was subjected to hours of forced exercise, according to the report.

Robert Davidson, 32, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, among other charges. His girlfriend, Antoinette Fane is charged with endangering the life of a child and two counts of obstructing justice.

The boy, who lived in Forest Park, was visiting his father when the alleged incident occurred, the report states.
