Recall: 5 Million Bottles Of Cleaning Products, Sold In Illinois
For a few months last year, it seemed as though we were getting new product recall notices every single week. From vegetables to meats, cheeses to soft drinks, and everywhere in between, we spent a lot of time in 2022 warning you about products that should be avoided.
It's been fairly quiet on the product recall front here in 2023, but that may be because we're only a month and a half into the year, with plenty of time for a bunch of products to have something wrong with them and require removal from public spaces and home kitchens.
If we're going to get product recalls back in the news, a company deciding to pull over 5 million units of their product off of store shelves seems like a good place to start.
If Your Household Cleaning Supplies Happen To Have The Name "Fabuloso" On Them, You Might Want To Check To See If You Have One Of Their Recalled Products
There are all types of bacteria, and the key to a long and happy life seems to be avoiding the bad bacteria while loading up on the good bacteria, like probiotics.
As you might imagine, the Fabuloso recall from Colgate-Palmolive doesn't have anything to do with probiotics. It's all about a dangerous bacteria, called Pseudomonas species bacteria--and it's nothing to mess with, according to WebMD.com:
If you're in good health, you may not get sick from it. Other people only get a mild skin rash or an ear or eye infection. But if you're sick or your immune system is already weakened, pseudomonas can cause a severe infection. In people with cystic fibrosis, cancer, or burns, it can be life-threatening. It is one of the top causes of infections people get from being in hospitals.
Let's Get To The Important Stuff, Like What To Look For, What To Do If/When You Find It, And How To Get Your Money Back Or A Replacement Product
The notice on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website explains that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner products and contact Colgate-Palmolive Company for a full refund or a free replacement product.
To receive a refund or replacement, consumers should take a picture of the product’s UPC and lot code and dispose of the product in its container with household trash. The consumer recall form can be found on fabulosorecall.com. Do not empty the product prior to disposal.
