Oprah Dubs an Illinois Company’s Product One of Her ‘Favorite Things’ for 2021
This can only be good for business.
I can only imagine what it would do for a small business to find out it had been nominated as one of Oprah Winfrey's "Favorite Things" of the year.
It would be safe to say, first the incredible feeling of being put on an influencer as big as Oprah's list, then the sheer horror of realizing you're going to probably work harder than ever in order to meet the demand.
In case you're not aware, TV legend Oprah Winfrey has been putting out her "Favorite Things" list for years and it's absolutely huge.
While it's an honor, if you're a small business, there's a good chance you're going to be inundated with requests for your product.
I'm guessing the same can be said of Tovala. Wait, what is Tovala?
According to Built in Chicago, they are:
...a food-tech company completely reinventing home cooking to save consumers time. Through an innovative combination of hardware, software, and food, we give our customers a way to enjoy really good, good-for-you meals without sacrificing time to do whatever matters to them.
Winfrey's bestie Gayle King is apparently a huge fan of Tovala.
Gayle swears this kept her fed through isolation. You can scan the barcode of a grocery item and the oven will adjust its settings to cook it. Giftees can also sign up for a Tovala meal plan to receive scannable meals.
Actually sounds kind of cool. I think I want one for Christmas now too.
Originally $299, they are on sale right now on the Tovala website for 20% using the code "OPRAH" for the discount.
Who knows, you could end up with one under your tree this Christmas. That is if the folks at Tovala can handle the demand.
