One Of Least Weed Friendly Cities In U.S. Is Located In Wisconsin
Even though marijuana is more socially acceptable than ever, there are still many places in the United States that are still "anti-weed."
Wisconsin "Just Says No" To Pot
One of the states that refuse to jump on the "weed bandwagon" is Wisconsin. Every time it has been brought to the state government to legalize recreational marijuana, the idea has been immediately shut down.
It does kind of surprise me because Wisconsin is such a party place. I guess states are just like people. You're either a drinker or smoker and our neighbors to the north definitely love their booze.
Wisconsin Is Home To One Of Least Weed Friendly Cities In United States
Illinois and Wisconsin are pretty much the polar opposites when it comes to cannabis, so it would make sense for one of their major cities to be unfriendly when it comes to weed. Especially, since Chicago is so "pro-pot."
In the ranking of the least "weed-friendly" cities in the United States, Milwaukee is ranked number five. That's very high on the "hate cannabis" meter.
According to realestatewitch.com,
Altogether, these metros have little passion for pot based on Google Trends ratings that show they search for marijuana-related terms 37% less than the national average.
They also have less variety, with 88% fewer dispensaries (0.2 per 100,000 residents) and 28% fewer head shops (0.6 per 100,000 residents) than the average city.
Additionally, residents spend about 4.2% of their annual income on weed, compared to 3.7% in the average city.
Keep Your Weed Out Of Wisconsin
Just remember if you're heading to Milwaukee for Summerfest, Brewers game, or another fun event... leave your weed at home because it is not welcomed there.
By the way, if you're from Wisconsin and enjoy pot, feel free to travel down to Illinois to purchase some because we will gladly take your money.
