If John Popper is all that comes to mind when you think of harmonica masters you need to attend an upcoming Rockford Symphony Orchestra concert.

His name is Howard Levy and he has won multiple grammys for his harmonica playing. Along with the diatonic harmonica, My. Levy is also a superb pianist, innovative composer, recording artist, bandleader, teacher and producer.  Levy has recorded with Kenny Loggins, Dolly Parton, Styx and Paul Simon.  He has traveled the world with his harmonica and will land here in Rockford this Saturday.

Full disclosure I was a member of the Rockford Area Youth Symphony Orchestra (RAYSO) so I get kind of geeked out about things like this. But you have to admit that seeing a master of the harmonica isn't an everyday occurrence.

The concert is this Saturday March 11 at 7:30PM.  Tickets start at $22 and you can buy them here.

If you need some more incentive on going to see this guy play just listen to him talk about the harmonica in the clip before. The guy is passionate. Can't wait.
