The beginning of spring doesn't just mean robins and tulips. It also means that Rockford's best burger joint is opening up and putting new stuff on the menu.

If you haven't been to 15th and Chris yet, it's something you need to put on your to do list immediately. Owner/chef James Purifoy's restaurant is about to start their 3rd year of business and the sky's the limit for this place.

15th and Chris shakes off their winter slumber and re-opens on Tuesday. James has been slowly leaking his new creations on Facebook, so let's take a look at what's new this year.

French Quarter (pictured above)

  • Cajun spiced chicken
  • Pepper jack cheese
  • Skrimps (sic)
  • Bacon
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onion

James has always had a few spicy items on his menu and this one looks like it will fall right in line. Spicy shrimp on a burger? Sure. Probably having this one first this year but don't hold me to it.

German Shepherd

  • Seasoned beef patty
  • Goat cheese
  • Grilled bratwurst
  • Sauerkraut
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Spicy Brown Mustard

Another thing that James has never shied away from is multiple meats on a burger. Anyone can make a brat but it takes a special mind to pair it with goat cheese, spicy mustard and put it on a burger. After some consideration, depending on the weather, this might be my first order this year. Seems more appropriate for cooler weather that we're supposed to have on Tuesday.

Mona Lisa

  • Seasoned beef patty
  • Gouda cheese
  • Skrimps (sic)
  • Calamari
  • Grilled onions
  • Mayo

Shrimp and calamari on a burger? He's lost his mind... in a good way. I guarantee you can't find a burger like this in a 50 mile radius.

Sure these burgers look awesome but I can personally assure you that his food always tastes even better.

I haven't even gotten to the fries. I would go to any restaurant just for these Parmesan-coated fries. They're incredible.

So hop on over sometime Tuesday, say hi to James and grab some of the best food Rockford has to offer. There's no seating inside so get ready to eat outside or do what I do and just inhale it when you get back in your car. Don't worry nobody's looking, they all have their faces full with their own food.
