One of America’s Finest Fried Chicken Joints is in Illinois
You can have fried chicken at just about any restaurant in Illinois but I'll bet you've never had it done quite like this.
I've seen fried chicken done like this but I'm not sure I've ever had it on a plate.
It totally makes sense too when you think about one of the biggest deterrents of eating fried chicken, the mess.
It's even more of a mess when you're eating chicken wings but what if I told you there's a way to turn that chicken wing into something that resembles a lollipop?
Well, that's what one restaurant in Illinois is doing and it just got noticed as one of America's finest fried chicken joints.
Eater's Best Fried Chicken in America dubbed the Great Sea Restaurant as one of the very best saying:
The lollipop wing stands as one of the greatest fried chicken innovations. Great Sea Restaurant, a mainstay on the city’s North Side, has lollipop wings down to a science, coating them in a sweet, sticky, spicy Chinese Korean American sauce (also sold by the bottle).
Eater isn't going at it alone in praising the lollipop wings at Great Sea.
Kiersten S. on Yelp says "the lollipop chicken wings are where it's at" and Pete F. simply called them "amazing."
Overall, Great Sea rates 4 out of 5 on Yelp but U R. mentioned "The wings are mediocre, not bad but no big deal. Way overly hyped."
I'm not sure who to believe. Probably just need to try it myself. Great Sea Restaurant is located at 3253 West Lawrence Avenue in Chicago.
