Illinois’ Summer Forecast: Here’s What The Experts Are Saying
Even though we're in a bit of a cold snap right now, the weather we've been treated to here in Northern Illinois since the middle of February has resulted in one of the nicest and easiest transitions to spring that we've seen in several years.
There is no question that March came in like a lamb instead of a lion, and looking at the forecast for the next week to ten days, I can see that March will more than likely go out exactly the same way it came in.
Forecasters have already gone on record as saying that we'll be on the receiving end of an early and warm spring, but what can we expect to get during Illinois' summer of 2024?
Many People Find It Weird That A Publication That Delivers Weather Forecasts Months, And Sometimes Even A Year Ahead Of Time Can Have A High Accuracy Rate, But...
That's what happens on a fairly regular basis with publications like The Old Farmer's Almanac and the Farmer's Almanac. The Old Farmer's Almanac has been cranking out weather predictions and data since way back in 1792 (George Washington was in his first term as president), and the Farmer's Almanac has been at it since 1818 (the same year Illinois became a state), and both publications claim a very high accuracy level.
As for the predictions for Illinois' upcoming summer of 2024:
The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a summer that's warmer and muggier than normal, with the hottest temperatures coming around July 4th, and hanging around throughout the month.
The Farmer's Almanac is of the same opinion, hotter than normal, more humid than normal, and a really hot July.
The Weather Channel says that the summer of 2024 in Illinois is going to be hotter than the last several summers.
NOAA's prediction for Illinois' summer weather is "likely above average," and says that heat-waves will be a common thing over the summer months.
