Nearly 1 Million RoboCalls Hit Rockford Last Month

If your experience is anything like mine, it probably feels to you that about half those calls went directly to your phone number.

The robocalls are coming in hot and heavy here in the Rockford area, according to RoboCall Index. And the volume of calls is on the increase.

For example, here are some of the January numbers for Rockford:

• Robocalls to 815: 14,600,000
• Calls Per Day: 469,900
• Calls Per Hour: 19,600
• Calls Per Second: 5.4
• Average calls per person in the 815 area code: 9.5

Now, we go really big by looking at the robocalls targeting the state of Illinois in January:

• Robocalls to Illinois: 164,600,000
• Calls Per Day: 5,300,000
• Calls Per Hour: 221,200
• Calls Per Second: 61.5
• Average Calls Per Person: 10.0

RoboCall Index even breaks down the percentages of robocalls to Illinois by category:

• Alerts and reminders: 25 percent
• Payment reminders: 23 percent
• Telemarketing: 12 percent
• Scams: 40 percent
