National Pizza Day Is This Sunday–Here Are The Illinois Deals
A famous American humorist of the last century was known for many things, and one of those things was his statement that he "never met a man I didn't like."
I'm happy to say that I feel the exact same way. Well, sort of. Unlike Will Rogers, I have met a few men that I didn't like, but...I've never met a pizza I didn't like. Sure, some have been far better than others, but I still have never, ever said that a pizza sucks. "Just-okay" pizza, to me, is still better than 90 percent of the things that I could have eaten instead.
This Sunday, February, 9th, just happens to be National Pizza Day. And, through some sort of glorious coincidence, National Pizza Day just happens to fall on the same Sunday as the Super Bowl, a day set aside each year for 3 out of every 5 Americans to eat their own weight in pizza. This should work out well for everyone.
This Actually Will Work Out Nicely For Illinois' Pizza Lovers, Because Having National Pizza Day On The Same Day As The Most-Watched TV Event Of The Year Means People Throwing Watch Parties Can Find Some Great Deals And Save Some Money
For local pizza deals, you'll have to reach out to your favorite locally-owned pizza joint to see what sort of specials they're running (because they will be, if they're smart), but the national/regional chain pizza places have all made their specials for Sunday known, and some have even extended their deals beyond Sunday.
Here's a sampling of National Pizza Day deals and specials going on this Sunday (hat tip to Patch.com):
Chuck E. Cheese: Now through Sunday, the franchise has a BOGO deal on large one-topping pizzas for online orders only with the code “PIZZADAY.”
Domino’s: Two menu items can be purchased for $6.99 each under its mix-and-match deal. Also, the chain’s ongoing Perfect Combo Meal deal for $19.89 is good only through Sunday.
Fazoli’s: Friday through Sunday, the chain is offering eight slices of pizza and 10 boneless wings for $18.99. Use the promo code “Football 25.”
Giordano's: While not a specific Super Bowl or National Pizza Day deal, the chain offers a game day party deal for $54.95, which includes a medium deep dish pizza or a large thin crust pizza with two ingredients, wings and four chocolate chip cookies. For an additional $10, you can add a Pepsi four-pack.
Little Caesars: In this exclusive deal, e-club members can buy a one-topping pizza for $5.99 on National Pizza Day. Also, as the official pizza sponsor for Super Bowl LIX, the chain is offering a Slices-N-Stix Super Bowl deal where you could win a free Slices-N-Stix if a Pick 6 happens during the Super Bowl.
Marco’s Pizza: Use promo code: MEGAMEAL to get a meal bundle for $19.99 (one large one-topping pizza, Cheezybread, and Cinnasquares).
Papa John's: The chain is offering a New York-style pizza or heart-shaped pizza for $11.99 on National Pizza Day.
