I'm a big fan of pierogies. You don't have to have some Polish in your heritage to enjoy them, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt. In fact, we just ate a bunch of them this past weekend at my parents' house and made a few at home two weeks ago.

I'd tell you to give them a try yourself, but there's a bit of a problem right now. According to Consumerist, Pierogi-maker Mrs. T’s is recalling some of its new Mozzarella, Tomato, and Basil flavor pierogis because there could be pieces of plastic in the filling. What should you look for in your freezer?

The only affected product line were the new Mozzarella, Tomato, and Basil flavor. They’ll have a “Best by” date of 05/20/16 or 7/15/16 on the box. If you have any questions about the recall, contact Mrs. T’s at 1-800-743-7649. That’s also the number to call if you aren’t able to return your pierogies to the store where you purchased them for a refund or a replacement.

That's unfortunate. We literally talked over the weekend about how much we wanted to try the new flavor. The good news is to date, Mrs. T’s has not received reports of any adverse events associated with this issue.
