ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — First-degree murder charges have been filed against the alleged driver of a vehicle that crashed into a car driven by a Rockford attorney as it fled a crime scene.

Bryant Locke was charged Thursday in the death of 42-year-old Karen Williams. She died a week after the Aug. 20 crash from injuries suffered

In addition to the murder charge, the 20-year-old Locke is also charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated fleeing to elude.

Locke, D'Angelo Brooks and Ronaldo Ford, both 19, are accused of fleeing Boone County sheriff's police after a report of an armed robbery at a Belvidere cellphone store. The chase ended when the auto allegedly driven by Locke slammed into Williams' auto.

Brooks and Ford have been charged with armed robbery.
