Loves Park Police Launch New Website

The Loves Park Police Department has unveiled a new website to keep the public updated on information regarding what's happening in the community.

You also can see the most recent post to the department's Facebook and Twitter feeds on the front page of the new site:

There are a number of useful links on the site. You can check out a map of recent crime in the area. You can view programs offered by the LPPD through the year. And, in a nod to transparency, the link to make a Freedom of Information Act request is right on the front page of the site.

Through a press release, a department spokesman explained:

We hope to achieve more efficient and effective public safety and promote our department, through the use of this new tool. Our citizens may go to this site to find out most any information they would want to know about our department.

The new site is at lovesparkpolice.org.
