Local Teacher Gets Golden Apple Award

Huge Congrats to Candice Cortese of Hononegah for getting recognized for her achievements in the classroom. 

Ms. Cortese received her award at her home in Dekalb, where she commutes over an hour each way to Hononegah every day.

The math teacher is in her 14th year at Hononegah. She teaches Algebra, Pre-Calc and Trig.

Hononegah ranks in the top 50 in SAT math scores in the state of Illinois, and contributions from teachers like Ms. Cortese are is the reason why.
