I have to admit, I am pretty darn surprised that the state of Wisconsin does not support the legalization of any kind of cannabis. Not even for medical use. Well, I should say the government officials do not want it.

Wisconsin is usually that laidback place where the rules seem lax. I guess for once they decide to be strict about something. It is a very interesting scenario.

Here Is What Happened

According to channel3000.com,

"Republicans who control the Legislature’s powerful budget-writing committee have again blocked a Democratic attempt to legalize marijuana for medical uses."

"The GOP stripped a provision legalizing medical marijuana from Gov. Tony Evers’ 2021-23 budget last month."

"Democrats on the budget committee introduced a motion Wednesday that would legalize it and provide the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection with roughly $185,000 per year to regulate the drug."

We Win

I hate to be negative but I think everyone who lives in Illinois realizes how bad a job our state government does. The Land of Lincoln is pretty much ranked last in everything.

In my opinion, Wisconsin beats us in just about everything starting with professional football and on up.

For once, we win. Illinois has legal weed and the Cheeseheads do not.

I would like to thank all of the lawmakers in Wisconsin for saying no. I mean it is a hard no. They will not even allow medical marijuana.

Now, all of those cannabis customers will drive down to Illinois and spend money and pay taxes for us.

The long lines will continue at dispensaries on the state line.

A lot of people are moving out of Illinois for many different reasons. I think the next group out the door will be underground weed dealers. Why compete against the legal stuff when you can relocate to an open market.
