Popular Illinois Haunted House Announces One-Night Summer Event

If you thought Halloween season was the only time you could get your scares at Twisted Crypt in Rockford, think again.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the outdoor fun of summer in Illinois, but the sights, smells, and cooler temperatures of fall are what my happy place is made of.

Fall in Illinois usually involves several trips to our favorite apple orchards and pumpkin patches, and for many people, getting scared at their favorite haunted house like Twisted Crypt Haunted House in Rockford.

Twisted Crypt has been named one of Illinois' Top Ten Haunted Houses, is well known for its immersive sets, talented actors, and terrifying special effects, and now it's getting ready to put some terror into our summer too.

'Twisted Summer' Coming to Twisted Crypt

On Friday, June 20, Twisted Crypt will be hosting its first 'Twisted Summer' event, offering horror fans in Rockford the perfect way to satisfy their spooky cravings months before Halloween arrives.

From 5 to 11 p.m. on June 20, Twisted Crypt's parking lot will be filled with over 30 arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, music, and more... plus the haunted house itself will be open and ready to deliver plenty of screams!

Basically, it will be a Halloween festival dropped right into the middle of June!

As someone who lives in the Rockford area, I love seeing local attractions come up with creative ways to keep the fun going outside of their normal season. Who says ghosts, monsters, and creepy clowns should have to wait until fall?
