As snow accumulation continued to pile up on the first day of December in Illinois and Wisconsin, we may have several more chances for flurries in the next 10 days.

Another Chance of Snow on Wednesday

As we warned you more than a week in advance, the Thanksgiving weekend brought a foot of snow to some parts of Illinois and Wisconsin, with a few more inches accumulating as we headed back to work on Monday (12/1).

According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, the Rockford region has a 50 percent chance of snow showers on Wednesday (12/3), right before temperatures go subzero.

Cold Blast and More Snow Potential

Lows on Wednesday night (12/3) are expected to plummet, with the NWS forecasting an overnight low of -4 in Rockford, and the high temperature on Thursday (12/4) only reaching 10.

Thursday night's low will be -6, with highs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday expected to be in the mid to upper 20s, and lows next weekend in the single digits, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

Extended Forecast Currently Predicting More Snow

The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast correctly predicted the snowstorm we had on Thanksgiving weekend, and now the extended forecast is showing a 40 percent chance of more snow on Monday, December 8, and a 25 percent chance of snow next Tuesday, December 9 for the Rockford area.

For the Janesville and Madison area, the Weather Channel is more aggressive with the snow totals for early next week, when snow is forecast to start Monday (12/8), continue through Tuesday (12/9), with 1 to 3 inches expected, and a 40 percent chance of snow on Wednesday morning (12/10).

Another snowmaker for northern Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin is possible beginning Sunday, December 14. The current 10-day forecast from the Weather Channel is predicting between a 40 to 50 percent chance of accumulating snow from December 14 through 15.
