John McDonald of Glen Ellyn passed away recently at the age of 77, and his family made sure to include one final shade of his favorite team. A longtime White Sox fan, McDonald "couldn't face another White Sox season after last year's record-breaking meltdown."

Another Embarrassing Moment for the Team

You can't blame him. The team made headlines again this week for a painfully bad defensive mishap that would almost make even the most diehard fan consider finding a new squad to cheer for. McDonald, though, won't be jumping to the Cubs. His obituary also made it clear that he loved Chicago sports, except for the North Siders.

NIU Grad and Trader Joe's Fan

Outside of baseball, McDonald was an NIU grad who worked in software sales and loved his post-retirement gig hanging out at the Trader Joe's sample table. A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter in Naperville is accepting donations in his memory.
