As an adult who loves Halloween, I am qualified to say that most of the events that take place in Illinois during Halloween season are geared to children and family fun. As a parent I love this, but sometimes we need an excuse to have a unique date night, and I just found something perfect!

Halloween Fun at Eckert's Farm

Eckert's Country Store & Farm is well known for being the largest family-owned apple orchard in the United States, and they have three Illinois locations (Belleville, Grafton, Millstadt) plus one in Kentucky.

Families flock to Eckert's each fall, not only for their apple picking and country stores, but for all the fun activities you can enjoy there too. I'm talking about corn mazes, wagon rides, farm animals, pedal cart races, festival food, live music—and this year the Belleville location is adding even more fun!

Jack's Lighted Trail at Eckert's

On September 13, 2025, Jack's Lighted Trail will officially open for the first time at Eckert's Farm in Belleville, and this sounds like something everyone needs to see:

Our all-new nighttime walkable trail transforms the farm into a glowing wonderland of lighted pumpkin sculptures, themed photo ops, and immersive surprises around every corner.

Wander through a hauntingly fun corn maze, snap selfies with spellbinding displays, and experience the magic of fall in a whole new light. This is more than a trail through corn stalks, it’s a one-of-a-kind Halloween journey you won’t forget.

Jack's Lighted Trail is definitely family-friendly, but Eckert's Cider Shed is the perfect place to have some adults-only fun with family and friends.

Ready to go on a road trip to Eckert's Farm in Belleville? Tickets for Jack's Lighted Trail at Eckert's go on sale September 8, but the farm, the Country Store, Cider Shed, Country Restaurant, and Donut and Custard Shop are all open daily! (Learn more here)
