These 3 Wisconsin Vacation Rentals Are Unlike Anything You’ve Seen
Are you planning a trip to Wisconsin soon and want to stay somewhere truly unique? Here are three awesome places to consider!
Summer in Wisconsin
If you're an Illinoisan who's anything like me, summer means finding every excuse possible to head to Wisconsin.
Sure, Illinois has great beaches, lakes, and beer to enjoy, but there's just something different about experiencing those things in Wisconsin.

Instead of booking another basic cabin or hotel when you head north this summer, why not spend the night somewhere you'll be talking about for years?
Wisconsin has some incredible, one-of-a-kind vacation rentals, but I think these three might be the coolest.
Unique Rentals in Wisconsin
My family is getting ready to head to our family cabin in Wisconsin soon, and while I was searching for new things to check out while we're up there, I came across an article from See, Seek, Sleep about unique Airbnbs throughout the state.
My family might not need to find a place to stay in Wisconsin, but I'd be willing to make an exception for one of these three places.
1. The House of Hodags in Rhinelander, Wisconsin
One of Rhinelander, Wisconsin's biggest claims to fame is the legendary Hodag, and this wild home is completely themed around the mythical Northwoods monster. Plus, it is located right behind Wisconsin's famous Hodag Store!
2. Wilson Schoolhouse Inn in La Crosse, Wisconsin
Most people would hate spending the night at school, but what if it was in an awesome old schoolhouse like this?
The Wilson Schoolhouse Inn near La Crosse began as a one-room school in 1917, and now over one hundred years later it is a beautifully restored vacation rental that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Wilson Schoolhouse Inn now features modern furnishings, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and all the comforts of home, but many of the building's original features remain, including the slate blackboard and school desks.
Now, here comes my favorite...
3. WWII Airplane Airbnb in Deerbrook, Wisconsin
Honestly, I had never thought about staying overnight in an airplane that wasn't flying me somewhere until I saw this awesome WWII Airplane Airbnb in Deerbrook:
The plane's Airbnb listing says:
Retrofit for overnight comfort with A/C, heat, bathroom, shower, kitchen with outside deck and grilling area, and campfire pit set amongst the trees alongside a private lake with dock. Sleeps four comfortably.
Sit in the fully restored, lit cockpit, and feel what it was like to fly one of the most iconic aircraft ever built!
Which of these unique vacation rentals do you want to check out first? It's definitely the plane for me!
