Driving around looking at beautiful Christmas lights is something I think every family should do during the holiday season, and lucky for us, Illinois has many fabulous options to choose from!

Christmas lights are one of my favorite things in life, and there is definitely no such thing as too many lights. If you too love looking at lights and prefer to do it in the comfort of your warm car instead of walking, here are 4 places your need to add to this year's light ride list!

This free display has already kicked off the 2022 season and features visits from Santa and the Snow Queen on certain nights and times!

2. East Peoria Festival of Lights/Folepi's Winter Wonderland

3. Way of Lights in Belleville, Illinois

This event takes place nightly from 5 to 9 p.m. through December 31, 2022, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows at 442 South Demazenod Drive in Belleville, Illinois. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. More information can be found, here. 

4. Wonderland In Lights - Effingham, Illinois
