There are so many choices to choose from, but crime isn't one of them. A couple in Illinois went the breaking the law route and all it did was get them thrown in jail.

For the guy, this is his 4th arrest in just a couple of years. Him and his girlfriend went into a Target store in Joliet. They loaded up a cart with $2,000 worth of merchandise and took off without paying. The next day, while the police were there to fill out a report. The couple returned and tried doing the same thing.
This time, the cops spotted them on the security cameras. The guy ran out a emergency exit and attempted to hide behind a bush. Yeah, he was caught. The woman tried to run to their getaway vehicle but was busted before she could escape.

By the way, the van they were driving was stolen. This brilliant couple also had illegal drugs on them. Some rules of crime broken with this incident, but the main one is to never return to the scene of the crime.
