‘Highly Recommended’ Illinois Pizza Joint to Close At the End of the Month
A longtime and seemingly popular pizza joint in Dixon, Illinois, suddenly announced it would close at the end of the month.
While it would be hard to tell if pizza place fans are upset, there has been little to no mention of Mama Cimino's impending closure.
Shaw Local News Network says Mama Cimino's, at 104 South Peoria Avenue, has been in business for 25 years, but owner Jim Gallentine has sold it.
New owners Heather and Greg Huffman will open Lena's Social Club in the same space as the former Mama Cimino's.
Mama Cimino's averaged a 3.5 on Yelp, and reviewers dubbed the restaurant "highly recommended," the food "tasty," and the service "always good."
While some patrons praised Mama Cimino's, others found the pizza to be 'just average,' adding that the crust was 'dry and tasteless.'
Now that Mama Cimino's is closing in just a handful of days, what do we know about Lena's Social Club?
According to a Facebook invite for the grand opening on Saturday, November 2, Lena's will offer "a variety of delicious food options, a full-service bar, and a kid-friendly game room."

The invite also adds an on-site event space for parties and the like.
While Mama Cimino's closure may disappoint its loyal fans, the emergence of Lena's Social Club in its place is a promising addition that creates anticipation.
